Refurbished new Vihara Mandiraya (shrine-hall) of Alan Mathiniyaramaya Temple in Polhengoda was declared open by Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday (30th January) at a function held at the temple premises.

Over 100 years old ancient dilapidated building was renovated in commemoration of Dilan Chaturanga Walagampala, son of renowned Gem Businessmen, Mr. Vinil Walagampala who succumbed to death following a fatal road accident. The event coincided the late Chaturanga's birth day.

Most Ven. Uduwe Dhammaloka Nayaka thero, Chief Prelate of the Temple presided over the religious proceedings during the event.

Venerable Maha Sanga, Chairperson of the MOD Seva Vanitha Unit Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, relations of the Mr. Vinil Walagampala family and residents of area were present at the event.
